What is Happening with Scantrust and U-label?

U-Label and Scantrust, providers of electronic labeling solutions for regulation compliance, have partnered to offer an upgraded U-label solution for E.U. wine labeling requirements.

As of 7th March 2024, U-label will be known as U-label by Scantrust. This new partnership combines the resources, technology, and expertise of both companies to provide wine and spirit companies with the best e-label solution and services in accordance with the latest requirements in the E.U. 

Customers on the existing U-label platform will be transitioned to a new e-label creation and management experience, with many improvements, in the first half of 2024.

When will the migration take place?

Customers will be migrated to the next version of the platform in the first half of 2024. A detailed timeline and process will be sent to all existing U-label customers in the coming weeks. Prior to migration, U-label customers can expect the service to work as it currently does with no service interruption.

Scantrust is a global software company headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland with over 10 years of experience managing digital labels and billions of QR codes under management. Some of the world’s most recognizable brands use Scantrust QR codes for regulatory compliance, consumer engagement, anti-counterfeiting and supply chain traceability. How does my winery benefit from the platform upgrade?

Wine and spirit companies can expect an enhanced e-label creation experience with new features and improved usability along with the expertise and backing of CEEV and spiritsEUROPE to ensure full compliance with E.U. requirements. Many customers will see lower prices for their subscription plans, and U-label by Scantrust will be able to provide expanded multilingual support.

Planning the transition

When will my account be migrated?

Accounts of existing U-label customers will be migrated in the first half of 2024. You will be contacted in the coming weeks (March 2024) with more information on the specific timelines and what you can expect during the transition. If you have any questions or concerns about the migration, contact us at account-migration@scantrust.com.

Will my e-labels go offline or become inaccessible during the migration?

E-labels will remain accessible to consumers who scan your QR codes throughout the migration process, with no disruption to service expected.

Will my QR codes remain the same after the migration or do I need to print them again?

Your QR codes will remain the same after the migration – there is no need to reprint them.

What do I need to do for my account to be migrated to the new e-label experience?

Existing U-label customers will have minimal requirements to complete migration, as virtually all of the process will be automated. Once your account has been migrated, you’ll simply be asked to sign-in to the new platform. If you have any questions or concerns about the migration, contact us at account-migration@scantrust.com.

What happens next?

All current U-label customers will be notified in the next few weeks (March 2024) with specific instructions and a timeline for the migration.

Pricing, discounts, and payments

Will my Subscription date and/or pricing change?

The date and price of your subscription will remain the same for the existing subscription period. Upon your next renewal, some plans will benefit from a price reduction. We will be in touch with more information.

I purchased U-label with a discount code. Will I retain it through the migration?

If you have previously received either a member or a partner discount, you will also receive a discount moving forward. Depending on the plan you use, your price may even be lower than before.

Which payment types are supported on U-label by Scantrust?

We support Credit Card and Paypal payments for all Business and Premium plans. For Enterprise plans, we support bank wire transfers.

Functionality and compliance

I have questions about the features that will be available in the new version of the platform. Where can I learn more?

You can learn more about the new platform at www.u-label.com. U-label by Scantrust also has an extensive Help Center with step-by-step explanations for all features. U-label customers will have unrestricted access after the migration.

Is U-label by Scantrust compliant with the EU wine regulation?

Yes! We continue to work closely with CEEV and spiritsEUROPE to ensure compliance with EU regulations. U-label by Scantrust will use the same ingredient terminologies and translations as before. 

Can U-label by Scantrust create GS1 digital link QR codes?

Yes, GS1 digital Link QR Codes can be created on the U-label by Scantrust platform.
