ABOUT US
Empowering a digital future
U-label makes it easy for wine and spirits companies to access digital technology and share with consumers relevant information on their products.
Our Vision
U-label was created on the idea that digital information was key to create an authentic relationship between companies and consumers based on the share of relevant and transparent information.
However, we quickly realized that digital information could only work if it was easily accessible and harmonised in its content so that consumers could get the best of it. U-label platform project was born.
What we do
We build technology to make sure the any wine and spirit company could start its journey towards digital transformation of consumer information by having access to the necessary IT and legal expertise. We create a fair and transparent digital environment for consumers to have access to relevant information on the products they wish to buy.
Our partners
Because of its complex nature, the U-label platform project required specialised expertise in the IT and digital field, but also an in-depth knowledge of the European legal framework for wine and spirits products, which are at the very heart of the initiative.
U-label teamed up with the EU associations representing respectively the European wine companies (CEEV) and the European spirit drinks producers (spiritsEUROPE).
About the partners
The European Committee of Wine Companies (CEEV – Comité Européen des Entreprises Vins - www.ceev.eu) was founded in 1960 and represents the European Union wine companies in the industry and trade (still wines, aromatised wines, sparkling wines, liqueur wines and other vine products). It brings together 23 national organisations from 12 EU Member States, plus Switzerland, United Kingdom and Ukraine, as well as a consortium of 4 leading European wine companies.
The companies represented by CEEV, mainly SMEs, produce and market the vast majority of quality European wines, both with and without a geographical indication, and account for over 90% of European wine exports
spiritsEUROPE (www.spirits.eu) represents the interests of the spirits sector in 30 national associations as well as of the 10 leading multinational companies. Distilled spirits are as diverse as the EU’s Member States, spanning 44 product categories and including a host of geographically-specific products that contribute to the culture of their regions and the European Union. As the leading voice of the European spirits sector, we seek to maintain and advance the freedom to produce and market spirits in a responsible way.
